OVERVIEW
This project was a pivotal component of my design assessment, a stepping stone towards securing the UI Designer position at Caim. Tasked with addressing specific challenges present on their websites, my role involved crafting design solutions that tackled these obstacles head-on.

My contributions centered on producing high-fidelity design mockups, with a keen focus on enhancing the top navigation menu bar, refining the sign-in page, optimizing the foster application process, streamlining the user dashboard, and reimagining the layout of information on the main page. Through this project, I aimed to create user-centric design solutions that align seamlessly with Caim's mission.
BACKGROUND
Caim is a 501c3 charity whose mission is to help the US become a no-kill nation. The platform empowers animal rescues to connect with each other, fosters and other rescue advocates in order to move animals from overcrowded, high kill areas to places they're more likely to be adopted.

The platform allows users to browse animals needing a foster home from shelters and rescues across the US through a single portal. It offers personalized search results based on animal high risk, distance from you, breed, and much more. Those interested in fostering are asked to complete one foster application to be sent to any rescues they might be interested in.
THE CHALLENGE
Currently, the navigation between the sites: main, and web app, and within each site, especially within the web app, is disjointed and doesn't provide the easy, seamless experience to new comers who might be interested in fostering.

User needs:
- easy way to start and register
- easy way to request to foster once logged in
- seamless navigation between the main site and the web app
- credibility
- different ways I can contribute
- relatability/familiarity

Business needs:
- increase the conversion rates
- provide seamless experience to the users (new comes and registered)

Constraints/Assumptions:
- no time for research from my side
- UI will be technically feasible

Thus, "how might we create a smooth and intuitive user experience across the sites that does not break a user's flow while giving them flexibility to be able to easily retrieve their actions."

FINAL WORDS
In conclusion, this project served as an assessment for the UI Designer position at Caim, and it's just the beginning of an exciting journey. There's ample scope to further enhance the user experience, making it both intuitive and visually captivating. Presently, I'm fully engaged in crafting designs that revolve around the foster aspect of the organization, focusing on navigation, design system development, credibility establishment, and fostering a sense of community among rescuers and fosters. Working at Caim has been truly exhilarating, as their mission aligns seamlessly with my personal design objective of creating meaningful experiences that contribute to making the world a better place.
